Tahoe Lighting Fault
Summary of the thread
A 2000 Chevy Tahoe is experiencing an issue where the lights turn on by themselves, with an error code related to the light switch. The problem could be due to a faulty light switch or a bad fuse. However, it was suggested to check the cable and plug connections of the light switch component. Ultimately, the issue was identified as a defective cable connection, which was resolved by a workshop.

I hadn't thought about the connections themselves. Where exactly should I be looking? Is it something I can easily access under the dash, or am I going to need to pull apart half the interior?

In my case with the Volvo, it was indeed the plug connection behind the light switch. However, accessing it required removing a fair amount of trim. Given that you have an error code already stored, and the lights are switching on spontaneously, I would suggest taking it to a trusted workshop. They'll be able to properly diagnose if it's just a loose connection or something more serious within the switch itself.

Turns out you were right it was a defective cable connection. The workshop sorted it out for 95€. Appreciate the help!

I understand your frustration. I had a similar issue with my 2012 Volvo V70. The dashboard lights would flicker, and sometimes the headlights wouldn't turn off. Have you checked the cable and plug connections of the light switch component? It might be a defective connection there.
