Talento auxiliary heater problem
Summary of the thread
A 2020 Fiat Talento diesel has an issue with the auxiliary heater not activating, despite fuses being intact. The problem is likely due to a faulty glow plug specific to the auxiliary heater, which can fail independently of the engine's main glow plugs. Diagnosis and repair require specialized tools, and visiting a workshop is recommended to resolve the issue effectively.

Starts fine, even when cold. So it could still be the glow plug even if the engine starts okay? Can I check it without special tools?

Yes, it can definitely be the glow plug for the auxiliary heater even if the engine starts fine. Think of it like this: the main glow plugs are like the starting quarterback, but the auxiliary heater glow plug is just a backup player. He might be out of commission, but the team (your engine) can still function. Unfortunately, you'll need some diagnostic tools to be certain. Honestly, to avoid further complications, I'd recommend visiting a workshop.

Appreciate the explanation! Took it to a workshop as suggested, and you were right – glow plug for the auxiliary heater. Repair cost 440€. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

Sounds familiar! I'd bet it's the glow plug for the auxiliary heater. They fail often. Does it struggle to start in cold weather too, or is it just the parking heater?
