Talento Electric Steering Column Fault
Summary of the thread
A 2023 Fiat Talento owner experienced an issue with the electric steering column adjustment not working, with an error logged and the column stuck. The suspected cause was a defective cable or plug connection, specifically corroded contacts. The problem was confirmed by a dealer, who identified a corroded connector as the cause, and the issue was resolved by replacing the connector.

Thanks for the insight! The code flags a general failure. You mentioned 'wiggling some connections'. Can you be more descriptive about where those connections were? I suspect corroded contacts.

Yeah, the error was pretty generic. As for the connections, it was the main connector block that feeds the column itself. It's a pain to get to. I ended up going to the workshop, fiddling only got me so far.

Right, thanks! The dealer's diagnosis confirmed our suspicion: corroded connector, causing intermittent disruption. New connector and labor cost 95€ total. Sorted!

I had a similar problem in my Talento. Steering column issues are the worst! Was the error code specific, or more of a general "steering adjustment failure"? I wiggled some connections and temporarily fixed it, but it came back...
