Talento exhaust flap issue

I have a 2021 Fiat Talento with a gasoline engine and 210568 km on the clock. I'm experiencing issues with what I suspect are the exhaust flaps. Symptoms include an error stored in the error memory, exhaust noise that's louder than usual, and a noisy engine running after a cold start. Could a defective exhaust flap be the cause of the exhaust noise? I've checked for obvious exhaust blockage, but found nothing.

Sounds familiar. I have a Talento as well. Had similar symptoms - louder exhaust, especially on startup. Did you also notice any change in engine performance or fuel consumption? Exhaust valves can be tricky.

I haven't observed any noticeable changes in performance or fuel consumption. The noise is the most prominent issue, along with the error code. Was your issue also related to exhaust flaps, and if so, what was the fix?

Yep, mine was the exhaust flaps too. Best to get it checked at a workshop, they'll be able to diagnose the exhaust system properly. Could save you a lot of hassle in the long run. In my case, it was a defective actuator.

Thank you for confirming. I will take it to a workshop for diagnosis and repair. It seems likely the exhaust flap actuator is indeed faulty. The repair ended up costing 190€.
