Talento Washer Fluid Warning

I have a 2023 Fiat Talento, electric engine. Recently, I've been getting a 'Washer fluid low' warning on the dashboard, even though the reservoir seems full. Now the windshield washer system no longer works. I checked the error memory with an OBD scanner and there is indeed an error stored. I've visually inspected the pump and the hoses, but I can't find any leaks or blockages. The wiper water level looks fine, but the warning persists.

Could be a faulty sensor giving you a false reading. Or maybe the pump is struggling despite the reservoir appearing full. Did you completely empty and refill the washer fluid to ensure there aren't any sediments blocking the intake?

I haven't completely emptied and refilled it, just topped it off. How would sediment cause a warning light, though? Isn't the sensor just a float that detects low levels?

The float could be stuck due to sediment, or the pump intake clogged, causing low pressure which triggers the warning. Since you've checked the basics, and it's still under warranty, I would suggest taking it to a workshop. They'll have diagnostic tools to pinpoint the exact issue.

Thanks for the advice. I took it to a local garage and you were spot on. It turned out to be a combination of a slightly blocked pump intake, triggering the low-level sensor prematurely. They cleaned it out, refilled the system, and cleared the error code. Cost me 25€. All good now.
