Talisman brake booster pressure sensor issue

My 2020 Renault Talisman with a gasoline engine is showing some worrying signs. I'm getting an error message in the speedometer, and the braking effect feels significantly reduced. My scanner shows an error related to the brake booster pressure sensor. Mileage is currently at 72233 km. I suspect it might be related to the brake system being bled incorrectly at some point. Any thoughts?

Summary of the thread

A 2020 Renault Talisman exhibited reduced braking performance and an error message related to the brake booster pressure sensor. The issue was suspected to be caused by incorrect brake system bleeding, potentially damaging the sensor. A visual inspection showed no obvious wiring damage, but the problem was confirmed by a workshop to be a faulty sensor. Replacing the sensor resolved the issue, restoring proper braking function.

The symptoms you describe strongly suggest a faulty brake booster pressure sensor, particularly given the error code and the recent work on the brake system. The incorrect bleeding procedure can certainly damage the ABS system and cause these sensors to fail. Have you checked the sensor connections and wiring for any obvious damage?

Thanks for the quick reply. I've visually inspected the connections and wiring; nothing jumps out as obviously damaged. Is there a reliable way to test the sensor itself before I consider replacing it? Also, could this issue affect other systems, like the ABS?

Without specialized diagnostic equipment, directly testing the sensor's output is difficult. Given the safety implications of impaired braking and the potential ABS involvement, the prudent course of action would be to have a qualified technician diagnose the root cause. Continuing to drive with diminished braking performance is risky.

Understood. I appreciate the advice. I took it to a workshop, and you were spot on. It was indeed the brake booster pressure sensor, likely damaged during a previous brake bleed. Replacement parts and labor came to 90€. Everything is working perfectly now. Thanks again!
