Talisman Engine Power Loss
Summary of the thread
A 2022 Renault Talisman owner experienced significant engine power loss and a persistent check engine light, suspecting a throttle valve issue. The problem could also stem from a defective accelerator pedal module or its internal electronics. A faulty throttle valve was confirmed as the cause, and after repair, the vehicle's performance returned to normal.

Thanks for the quick reply! I haven't checked the air flow specifically, but the engine response is definitely delayed. If it is the accelerator pedal module, is it something easily fixed, or is it best left to a professional?

Given the potential complexity involving the accelerator pedal module and its electronics, I highly recommend consulting a qualified workshop. Incorrect handling could exacerbate the problem or introduce new issues. Replacing the module, as well as diagnosing the issue should solve the problem.

Thanks a lot for the advice! I took it to the workshop, and it turned out the throttle valve was indeed defective. Repair, including parts and labor, came to 265€. Runs like new now!

A faulty throttle valve definitely aligns with those symptoms. Reduced engine power and the check engine light are classic indicators. Have you noticed any unusual air flow readings or a delay in engine response when pressing the accelerator? Perhaps a faulty throttle sensor is at play, impacting the air intake.
