Talisman massage seat failure

Hi. The massage function on the driver's seat of my 2016 Renault Talisman diesel has stopped working. I can't switch it on via the seat switch, and the car's computer shows an error. Has anyone experienced this? I suspect a faulty connection.

Possible causes for massage seat issues in a luxury car like the Talisman often involve the seat motor itself, the wiring harness, or the switch. The error code makes me lean toward an electrical fault. Have you checked the fuse box for any blown fuses related to seat functions? Also, inspect the wiring harness under the seat for any obvious damage. A disconnected or damaged plug is often the culprit.

Thanks for the input! I checked the fuses; all seem fine. I'll inspect the wiring harness more closely. Where should I focus? Are there specific plugs or cable sections known to be problematic for the massage setting feature?

Given the error message and the fuse check, it's likely a specific connection point. The massage seat functionality relies on several connections. Focus on the multi-pin connector that connects the seat control module to the main wiring harness. This is usually located under the seat towards the front. Ensure it's fully seated and the pins aren't corroded or bent. However, given that you've got an error logged, and depending on your comfort level with automotive electrics, it might be worth getting it checked by a workshop rather than probing around randomly with a multimeter.

Thanks for the detailed explanation. I took your advice and had a local workshop take a look. Turns out it was indeed a defective cable or plug connection like you suspected. Repair cost was 95€. Everything works fine again now.
