Talisman preheating lamp fault
Summary of the thread
A 2021 Renault Talisman diesel is experiencing a persistent preheating lamp fault, suspected to be caused by a defective glow plug. The issue is confirmed by an error code in the vehicle's memory. While the vehicle shows no other symptoms like reduced fuel efficiency or rough idling, a similar case suggests checking the glow plugs, relay, and wiring professionally to rule out other causes. The problem was resolved by replacing the faulty glow plug.

Fuel efficiency seems normal, and no rough idle. Just the persistent preheating lamp and the error code. Did yours behave the same?

Yes, exactly the same symptoms! In my case, it turned out to be a glow plug that had failed. Given the age of your vehicle and the low mileage, I'd still suggest getting the glow plugs checked professionally, along with the glow plug relay and wiring. It's best to rule out any other potential causes before just replacing the plug itself. I ended up taking mine to a workshop.

Thanks for the insight. I'll book it in for a proper diagnostic check. The workshop confirmed it was a faulty glow plug and the repair cost 440€

Interesting. I had something similar with my Talisman. The preheating light issue can definitely point to a faulty glow plug, but it could also be a few other things. Was there any noticeable drop in fuel efficiency or rough idling, especially on cold starts? Did the engine light come on as well?
