Talisman seat heater malfunction

Good point about the thermal sensor. I hadn't considered that specifically. The error code is somewhat vague, just indicating a malfunction in the seat heating circuit. Where exactly is this thermal sensor located, and is it easily accessible for testing?

Ah, a vague code, you say? That throws a wrench into things, doesn't it? On my Talisman, the sensor was embedded within the seat cushion, near the heating element itself. Accessing it required some disassembly of the seat. Given the complexity and the potential for further damage, I strongly advise consulting a workshop. They possess the diagnostic tools and expertise to pinpoint the fault accurately. Trust me, a botched DIY repair could cost you more in the long run. I ended up paying around 390€ for the repair, which included a new heating mat, but it might just be the sensor in your case!

Thanks for the insight. I was hoping to avoid the workshop, but it sounds like the thermal sensor location makes it a bit too involved. I'll take your advice and get it checked out professionally. At least I have a better idea of what to expect now.

Interesting. I have a Talisman as well. I recall a similar problem a while back. Before condemning the heating mat, have you checked the thermal sensor? It's quite sensitive and prone to failure. Also, are you absolutely certain the error code specifically points to the mat and not a general heater failure?
