Talisman Turbo Boost Pressure Sensor

Hey, I'm having trouble with my 2016 Renault Talisman (gasoline engine). The check engine light came on, and the car's been jerking when I accelerate. I've also noticed a whistling and loud hissing sound when I give it gas. Sometimes, the engine even stalls at idle. Fuel consumption seems higher than usual, plus the engine definitely feels like it has less power. I've read online, and it seems like it might be a bad turbo boost pressure sensor. Could a defective cable or plug connection be the cause? The car has 44514 km on it.

Sounds like a boost leak for sure. That whistling/hissing points to it. The pressure sensor could be faulty, but have you checked the hoses going to and from the turbocharger for any cracks or loose connections? I had similar symptoms on my old Megane once. A cracked hose was the culprit.

Thanks for the quick reply! I haven't checked the hoses myself yet, to be honest. Where exactly should I be looking for those hoses? And is there anything specific I should be looking for besides cracks and loose connections? I'm a bit of a novice when it comes to this.

Okay, since you're not too familiar, I'd suggest getting it checked by a mechanic. The hoses run from the turbo to the air intake. You could try following them, but it's best to have someone with experience take a look. Given all those symptoms, you're probably dealing with a boost pressure sensor issue, but it's wise to confirm that before replacing parts. A workshop can confirm the problem and do the job professionally. The defective cable connection to the sensor is very likely in that case.

Thanks a lot for your advice! I took it to the workshop, and you were right. It was indeed the boost pressure sensor! The final repair cost was 95€. Appreciate the help!
