Tarraco Central Locking Issue

Hi, hoping someone can offer some advice. I've got a 2021 Seat Tarraco, hybrid engine, with about 139965 km on the clock. Recently, the central locking has completely stopped working. None of the doors will lock or unlock using the key fob, and I'm getting an error stored in the car's memory. After doing some digging, I suspect it might be a defective cable or plug connection. Could this be related to the car alarm or security system? Has anyone else experienced something similar? Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated before I take it to a workshop!

That sounds frustrating! Is it happening on all the doors, or just one? Have you tried using the physical key in the door lock to see if that works? Maybe it's a problem with the key fob itself, have you tried the spare key?

Thanks for the quick reply! Yes, it's all the doors. The physical key works fine to manually open the driver's door, but that's it. The central locking just doesn't respond at all. And you're right, I completely forgot about the spare key! Just tried it, and unfortunately, it's the same problem. Could it still be the key fob even if both are failing?

Okay, since both key fobs are failing and the physical key only opens the driver's door, it does sound like the problem isn't with the key fobs themselves. A defective cable or plug connection is a likely culprit, especially given the error code you mentioned. Given the potential impact on the car alarm and the security system, and the fact that you've already identified the likely cause, I reckon a trip to the workshop is your best bet.

Just wanted to let you know. Took it to the workshop, and you were spot on! They found a defective plug connection, exactly as suspected. 95€ later, the central locking is working perfectly again. Thanks so much for your help, I really appreciate it!
