Yes, the engine does idle irregularly, which makes a vacuum issue seem even more likely. Can you tell me more about how you diagnosed the MAP sensor as the problem?

Honestly, I didn't dive too deep. The symptoms were spot on, and I figured it was beyond my limited skills. Took it to a shop, they confirmed the MAP sensor and vacuum leak pretty quick. Best bet is to get it properly diagnosed.

Thanks for the advice. I took it to a mechanic, and they found a faulty manifold pressure sensor and a significant vacuum leak, just like we thought. Replacing the sensor and fixing the vacuum leak cost 235€. The car is running well now.

Hey, I had a similar problem with my Taurus. Turned out to be the MAP sensor acting up. Check for any hissing sounds near the intake manifold, might point you to a vacuum leak. Was the engine idling rough too?
