Taurus Tire Pressure Warning Light

I've got a 2000 Ford Taurus with a gasoline engine and only 35820 km on it. Recently, the tire pressure warning light popped up. The speedometer displays a 'Tire Pressure Too Low' error, and I confirmed it with an error code read. I checked the tire pressures manually, and they're all fine. I'm suspecting a faulty sensor, maybe just a dead battery?

I had a similar issue with my Taurus. Same symptoms – warning light, error message, and all tires properly inflated. I'm curious, did you try resetting the TPMS through the car's computer?

Resetting the TPMS? I wasn't aware the 2000 model had that function. Where exactly in the system menu would I find that option? Or could it be a hidden procedure?

On mine, it wasn't in the main menu. I had to hold down the reset button while turning the key to the 'on' position. But if that doesn't work for you, it's probably the sensor. Ended up costing me 280€ at the shop.

Thanks for the info. Tried the reset procedure, but no luck. Looks like it's pointing to a dead sensor like I initially thought. I'll take it to the shop, thanks again for sharing your experience!
