Taurus Transmission Issue

I'm experiencing a transmission issue with my 2022 Ford Taurus, gasoline engine, at 211222 km. The MIL is illuminated, an error is stored, and the gearbox enters emergency mode. Shifts are unclean, and grinding noises are present. Could a faulty transmission oil pressure sensor be the culprit?

I had similar symptoms on my Ford Taurus. Is the transmission oil level correct? A low level can cause those pressure sensor faults and the issues you're describing.

The oil level has not been checked yet. Could a low oil level genuinely cause all these problems, including the sensor fault?

Yes, a low oil level is the likely cause. The sensor is just reporting the low pressure. I recommend checking the level immediately and topping it off if necessary. However, if the issue persists, a workshop visit is advisable to rule out further damage.

Thank you for the insight. It was indeed a low oil level. After topping it off and replacing the sensor, the issue is resolved. Total repair cost was 365€.
