Territory Audio System Failure
Summary of the thread
A 2016 Ford Territory's audio system is completely non-functional, with no sound and a useless navigation system, possibly due to a MOST bus fault. This issue, likened to a power outage in the car's system, may have been triggered by a recent battery change, potentially causing a power surge that damaged a control unit. The suggested solution is to have the vehicle diagnosed at a workshop equipped to handle MOST bus issues, with an anticipated repair cost of around 1000€.

Thanks for the quick reply! MOST bus fault, huh? Never heard of it. I did get the battery changed last month. Could that be the culprit? What exactly went wrong with yours?

The battery change could be related, yes. Sometimes a power surge during the change can fry one of the control units on the MOST bus. In my case, it turned out one of the modules had a short circuit, disrupting the whole fiber optic network. If I were you, I'd take it to a workshop equipped to diagnose MOST bus issues. Expect a repair bill of around 1000€.

Thanks so much for the info! I'll get it booked in at the workshop. Sounds like I'm in for some pain, but at least I have an idea of what's going on. Fingers crossed it's nothing too major!

Sounds familiar! I had a similar issue with my Territory. All those symptoms point to a MOST bus fault. It's the data transmission network for your audio and nav system. Think of it like a traffic jam on the car's information highway. Did you recently mess with any of the car's electronics or get the battery changed?
