Territory immobilizer problem

I'm having an immobilizer problem with my 2019 Ford Territory electric, which has 196111 km on it. The engine won't start, or starts briefly then cuts out. There's an error stored too. I think it's incorrect key programming. Anyone else seen this?

Sounds familiar! I have a Territory too. Had something similar happen a while back. Does the security light on the dash act strangely? Mine would flash erratically when I tried to start it. Almost like it couldn't decide if I was allowed to drive it or not. Like a bouncer who can't remember your face!

Thanks! Yes, the security light does flash erratically when I try to start it. Could you tell me how you fixed it?

Right, that's exactly what mine was doing. I couldn't fix it myself, unfortunately. It seems like the key and the car just… forgot they were friends. You'll probably have to take it to a workshop to get the key reprogrammed to the car's computer. Think of it as reintroducing them at a party!

Thanks for the confirmation and advice. I took it to a workshop, and the key was indeed incorrectly programmed, like you said. It's fixed now with a key reprogramming, costing 45€.
