Thalia AC Fault

My 2000 Renault Thalia/Symbol diesel has an AC issue. The AC doesn't cool, doesn't switch on, and the warning light is on. Error memory shows a fault. Is it the AC compressor?

Yes, the error points to the AC control unit. What did you do?

I also thought it could be the AC control unit. In the end, I had to take it to a workshop. The repair was expensive - 980€.

Thanks for the info. I'll take it to the workshop and prepare for the worst.
