Thalia incorrect vehicle coding

I have a 2000 Renault Thalia with a gasoline engine. I'm getting a fault code. The infotainment system and speedometer both display an error message, and an error is stored in the error memory. I suspect it might be an incorrect vehicle coding issue, but I'm not sure how to proceed.

I had something similar happen with my Thalia. Is the malfunction indicator lamp on? I remember running a diagnostic scanner and it pointed to a control module needing attention. Did you check the fault code with such a device?

Yes, the engine light is on. I've got the fault code from the diagnostic scanner. It points towards some coding problem in one of the control modules. Did your diagnostic scanner also show a similar coding problem?

Exactly! It was as if the car's computer had a mild stroke and forgot some essential settings. I tried some things myself, but I'd recommend taking it to a workshop, unless you're really familiar with Renault's specific coding tools. It can be tricky, like trying to defuse a bomb with a pair of pliers. I'm quite sure, that they can quickly recode the control module.

Thanks for the advice. I took it to a workshop, and you were right. The coding of the vehicle was incorrect, like a typo in the car's DNA. They recoded it, and everything is working fine now. Cost me 360€, but worth it to get rid of that annoying error.
