Thalia Overheating

My 2018 Renault Thalia/Symbol, gasoline engine, is overheating. Mileage is at 62207 km. The check engine light is on, and I'm pretty sure the radiator fan isn't kicking in. Suspecting the speed sensor, but haven't confirmed yet. Anyone seen this before?

Hey! I had a similar issue with my Thalia, though I can't remember the exact year. Overheating, engine light, the whole shebang. It drove me nuts for a while. Was your temperature gauge going crazy too? How did you check the fan?

The temperature gauge does fluctuate a bit, yes. I checked the fan by simply starting the engine and waiting for it to heat up, expecting the fan to start eventually. It didn't. Did you ever find out what was wrong with yours?

Yeah, that's pretty much what mine did. It turned out to be a faulty thermal switch. I tried messing with it myself, but I ended up taking it to a workshop. Honestly, I think you should do the same. It will probably save you a lot of headache.

Thanks for the insight! Appreciate you sharing your experience. I took your advice and went to a workshop. Turns out you were right, it was a faulty speed sensor that cost me 250€ to fix. All good now.
