Thalia Throttle Valve Defect

Thanks for the analogy. I inspected the air filter, and it seems relatively clean. I'm curious if a faulty throttle position sensor could also cause similar symptoms. I'm also concerned about the replacement cost. What's the likelihood of sensor malfunction, and what's a reasonable price range for the repair if a complete throttle valve replacement is needed?

You're right, a faulty throttle position sensor is like having a miscalibrated ruler. It tells the engine the wrong information about how open the 'throat' is, causing all sorts of problems. It definitely fits the symptoms. Regarding price, parts can vary wildly. It's always best to get a diagnostic check at a trusted workshop. They can pinpoint the exact problem, whether it's the sensor, the valve itself, or something else entirely. Better to be sure than to throw money at replacing the wrong thing. A diagnostic check is a great first step.

I appreciate your guidance, especially the miscalibrated ruler analogy. Following your advice, I consulted a qualified mechanic, and they confirmed a defective throttle valve. The total repair cost, including parts and labor, was 265€ Thank you again for your assistance.

Sounds plausible. Think of your engine like a human body. The throttle valve is like the throat, controlling how much air 'food' gets in. If the 'throat' isn't opening properly, the engine starves and loses power. The accelerator pedal module is like the brain telling the throat what to do. A faulty brain (module) or a clogged throat (throttle valve) both lead to the same problem. Have you checked for any obvious obstructions in the air intake? A dirty air filter, for instance, can sometimes mimic throttle valve issues.
