Tiburon brake lights dead

Guys, my 2000 Hyundai Tiburon with a gasoline engine is acting up. The brake lights are completely dead, and the infotainment system is showing a brake error. I scanned it, and it stored an error related to the brake light switch. What's going on?

Summary of the thread

The brake lights on a 2000 Hyundai Tiburon were not functioning, and an error related to the brake light switch was detected. The issue was initially thought to be a faulty switch or wiring problem. However, it was resolved by adjusting the brake pedal, which had been inadvertently moved, leading to a simple reset of the error with no cost involved.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Sounds familiar. I’ve got a Tiburon too. Was the error intermittent at first? Like, sometimes the lights worked, sometimes they didn't?

Intermittent? Not really. They just quit entirely. How does that relate to your experience?

Okay, mine started with the lights flickering and then eventually just staying off. I figured it was the switch itself, or a wiring issue. Honestly, unless you’re comfortable messing with the brake system, I'd say take it to a decent workshop. Better safe than sorry when it comes to brakes!

Thanks! Turned out I'd accidentally nudged the pedal while vacuuming. The switch was fine, must've just been a weird angle. Reset the error and all good! Zero cost.
