Tiburon oil pressure light and contaminated oil
Summary of the thread
A 2007 Hyundai Tiburon with a gasoline engine is experiencing an intermittent oil pressure light and contaminated oil, which appears darker than usual. The core problem could be overdue maintenance or a more serious oil leak. The suggested solution is to take the car to a workshop for a professional diagnosis, which revealed that the issue was due to exceeding the maintenance interval, requiring an oil change and filter replacement.

The oil appears darker than usual, almost a muddy brown color, quite different from its usual amber hue. Did your oil exhibit similar discoloration, and if so, what was the root cause? Trying to figure out the severity to plan for maintenance or repairs.

Yeah, mine looked the same. It turned out to be exactly what I feared. Just take it to a workshop, it is hard to diagnose yourself.

I took it to a local workshop, and it turned out that the maintenance interval had been exceeded. The oil change and filter replacement, along with a system check, cost 165€.

I had something similar with my Tiburon, similar mileage to yours. The oil pressure light came on, and the oil looked off. What color is the oil?
