Tiburon rear window heating issue
Summary of the thread
A 2006 Hyundai Tiburon had a rear window heating issue, accompanied by an error in the error memory and a non-functional windshield heating. The problem was suspected to be electrical, possibly related to the battery. After professional testing, it was confirmed that the battery was heavily discharged and defective. Replacing the battery resolved the heating issues.

Interesting. I suspected an electrical issue. How did you diagnose your Astra's battery? Did you use a multimeter or some other tool?

Initially, I checked the voltage with a multimeter, which seemed okay at rest. However, the voltage dropped significantly under load. Considering your error memory and the windshield heating issue, I strongly suggest having your battery professionally tested. It might save you from chasing other potential causes. A workshop can properly assess its capacity and health.

Thanks for the advice. I took it to a shop, and you were right, the battery was heavily discharged and defective. They replaced it, and now the rear window heating is working again. Cost me 290€, but at least it's fixed.

I had a similar issue with my old Opel Astra. The error code suggested a problem with the heating coil, but the real culprit was a heavily discharged battery. Have you checked your battery's condition? A weak battery can cause all sorts of electrical gremlins.
