Tiida electric steering column fault
Summary of the thread
A 2009 Nissan Tiida diesel experienced a problem with its electric steering column adjustment, which was no longer functioning and stored an error in the memory. The issue was suspected to be due to a defective cable or plug connection. After seeking advice, it was confirmed that the problem was indeed a defective plug connection, which was resolved at a workshop.

Yeah, completely dead. No movement at all. Where exactly should I be looking for these connections? Is it easily accessible, or do I need to take apart half the dashboard?

Mine was accessible after removing some trim under the steering wheel. If you're not comfortable, I'd suggest getting it checked at a workshop. It could save you a bigger headache. The error sounds suspiciously like a steering failure.

Thanks for the advice. Took it to the workshop; you were spot on. Defective plug connection, just like the manual said. They charged me 95€ to fix it. All good now!

I had a similar issue with my old Peugeot 308. Steering column adjustment issue too. Check all the connections, as it could be a mechanical fault. Is the adjustment completely dead?
