Tiida electric steering column fault

Hi, I've got a problem with my 2009 Nissan Tiida diesel. The electric steering column adjustment is defective. I get an error stored in the error memory, and the steering column can no longer be adjusted electrically. From what I've read, it could be a defective cable or plug connection. Has anyone else experienced this?

I had a similar issue with my old Peugeot 308. Steering column adjustment issue too. Check all the connections, as it could be a mechanical fault. Is the adjustment completely dead?

Yeah, completely dead. No movement at all. Where exactly should I be looking for these connections? Is it easily accessible, or do I need to take apart half the dashboard?

Mine was accessible after removing some trim under the steering wheel. If you're not comfortable, I'd suggest getting it checked at a workshop. It could save you a bigger headache. The error sounds suspiciously like a steering failure.
