Tiida Power Steering Vibration

Alright, I'm officially annoyed. My 2007 Nissan Tiida with a gasoline engine is giving me fits. The power steering is acting up – the steering wheel vibrates like crazy, the handling feels spongy, and to top it off, there's an error code stored. Sometimes it feels like the power steering just quits. Anyone else dealt with this?

I have a Tiida as well, and that sounds awfully familiar. I had similar symptoms, especially the vibrating steering wheel and the increased effort needed to steer. Have you checked the power steering fluid level?

Yep, fluid level is fine. I was reading online that a defective cable or plug connection could be the culprit? Did you find out what the problem was in your case?

I didn't want to risk damaging anything further so I took my car to a workshop. After inspection, they confirmed a faulty electrical connection to the power steering system. The error memory also indicated the same. I advise doing the same for your own safety.

Thanks for the advice! I bit the bullet and took it to a workshop. Turns out it was a defective cable connection, just as suspected. Cost me 95€ to fix. Appreciate the help!
