Tipo oil pressure warning lamp and mechanical noises
Summary of the thread
A 2017 Fiat Tipo owner experienced an oil pressure warning light and loud mechanical noises from the engine, despite the oil level being adequate. The issue was suspected to be related to oil viscosity or leakage. Another individual with a similar experience suggested that the problem might be a defective oil pump, especially given the high mileage. The owner confirmed that replacing the faulty oil pump resolved the issue, restoring the car's smooth operation.

Thanks for the reply. No, the performance seemed normal right up until the light came on. How was your problem fixed?

In my case, the low oil pressure issue was due to a defect in the oil pump. Considering the mileage on your Tipo and the symptoms you're experiencing, it's quite probable you have the same problem. I suggest you take your car to a workshop as soon as possible.

Thanks a lot for the advice! It turned out to be exactly what you said - a faulty oil pump. Had it replaced, and the total repair cost was 755€. Now it runs smoothly again!

Hello. I had a similar problem with my Tipo. The symptoms you described sound very familiar. Did you notice any changes in the car's performance before the warning light came on?
