Toro Overheating Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2018 Fiat Toro with a gasoline engine was experiencing overheating, with the check engine light on and a high temperature gauge, despite the coolant level being fine. The issue was suspected to be related to a defective radiator fan or thermal switch. After further investigation and a visit to a workshop, the problem was identified as a defective speed sensor, which was replaced, resolving the overheating issue and turning off the check engine light.

Thanks! I'll double-check the radiator fan. Where's the thermal switch located? What happens if the fan motor fails? What's the estimated repair cost?

The thermal switch location might vary, but on mine, it was near the thermostat housing (follow the radiator hose). If the fan motor is dead, the engine will overheat, especially in traffic. AC issues also point to this. It ended up being a defective speed sensor on my Toro causing all the trouble. I'd suggest a visit to a trusted workshop to have it checked.

I took my Toro to a workshop, and it was a defective speed sensor. They replaced it, and the overheating and check engine light are gone. The repair cost 250€ Thanks for your help!

I own a Toro too, and this sounds familiar. Is the radiator fan running at all, even when the engine is hot? Any recent AC performance issues? A faulty fan motor or thermal switch could be the problem. Let me know!
