Tourneo Fault Memory Lock Active

Hi, I'm having a weird electrical issue with my 2005 Ford Tourneo with a gasoline engine. The diagnostics tool shows 'Fault memory lock active'. I'm only getting 'Error stored in the error memory' as a symptom. Could undervoltage in the vehicle trigger that? Has anyone experienced this? Any ideas before I start ripping things apart?

Hey, I had something similar on my Tourneo. Same error message and everything. I remember it being a pain to track down. Did you check the battery voltage? Also, have you had any other electrical gremlins, like flickering lights or the radio cutting out?

Thanks for the reply! The battery seems okay, showing a steady 12.5V when the engine is off. No flickering lights or radio issues that I've noticed, just the error code. Was your error message also pointing towards undervoltage?

Yeah, the error message also pointed to undervoltage. I spent ages chasing it, checking grounds and whatnot. In the end, I had to bite the bullet and take it to a shop. They found some weirdness in the ECU's power supply. Honestly, car electronics are black magic sometimes. You might be better off getting it properly diagnosed.

Thanks a lot for sharing your experience. It sounds like I'm heading for a workshop visit myself. The workshop confirmed the issue and has fixed it. The bill came to 240€. They told me that it was caused by damaged wiring. Anyway, the error is finally gone!
