Tourneo hybrid engine jerking

Thanks for the tips! The jerking is most noticeable when I'm trying to accelerate quickly, like when merging onto the highway. It's not really noticeable at constant speeds. Should I be looking at anything else, or is it likely one of the things you mentioned?

Acknowledged. The symptoms you describe do strongly suggest a potential leak in the exhaust system. I advise against further self-diagnosis; it's time to consult with a qualified workshop for a comprehensive inspection. They will be able to properly diagnose and rectify the problem. Continuing to drive with these symptoms could potentially lead to more severe engine damage. Please get it seen to as soon as possible.

Thanks a lot for your help! I took it to the workshop, and it turned out there was a leak in the exhaust system, just like you suspected. Repair cost was 265€. Appreciate the advice!

Greetings. Uneven running in a hybrid Tourneo, accompanied by a check engine light and jerking, could stem from several issues. Given the mileage, have you considered inspecting components such as the crankshaft sensor? A faulty sensor can lead to rough idle and jerking. Additionally, examine the spark plugs and fuel injectors; if they're fouled or clogged, they could cause misfires. Finally, the oxygen sensor could be faulty and causing the mixture to be wrong. Could you describe the jerking in more detail? Is it consistent across all speeds and engine loads?
