Toyota iQ Boost Issues

I'm having some boost issues with my 2012 Toyota iQ diesel. It's got about 26004 km on the clock. The check engine light is on, and the car's jerking when accelerating. I'm also hearing a whistling noise and a loud hissing sound when I put my foot down. Sometimes the engine even stalls at idle, and I've noticed higher fuel consumption along with reduced engine power. I suspect a bad boost pressure sensor, possibly a defective cable or plug connection. Anyone experienced similar?

Sounds familiar. I had similar symptoms with my old Vauxhall Astra. Check engine light, weird noises, and loss of power. Could be a boost leak somewhere.

Interesting. What exactly was the issue with your Astra? Did you manage to diagnose it yourself, or did you take it to a shop?

I wasn't able to fix it myself, so I took it to the workshop, they told me the turbo system was faulty. I would recommend you take it to a professional to get it checked out.

Thanks for the advice. Turns out it was indeed the boost pressure sensor, just like I suspected. A loose connection, apparently. The repair cost me 95€. Appreciate the input!
