Toyota iQ Fuel Consumption and Engine Power Loss

My 2011 Toyota iQ diesel is showing some odd behavior. I'm getting higher fuel consumption and reduced engine power. The check engine light is also on. Mileage is 86293 km. I suspect a cylinder pressure fluctuation, but could this be a consequential error? I've checked spark plugs and can't find any obvious signs.

I had a similar issue with my iQ. Same symptoms. Have you checked the fuel injectors? That might be the culprit.

Fuel injectors, huh? I haven't looked at those yet. What exactly was wrong with yours?

Turned out a faulty camshaft sensor triggered a chain reaction, messing with the fuel mixture and eventually causing the pressure fluctuations. Get it checked at a workshop; they'll diagnose it quickly. I had it fixed for free under warranty.
