Toyota Noah anti theft alarm malfunction
Summary of the thread
A 2020 Toyota Noah hybrid experienced a malfunctioning anti-theft alarm system, with an error stored and the alarm non-functional. The issue was identified as being related to the alarm system being coded to activate optical locking, which interfered with the immobilizer. The suggested solution was to have a workshop adjust the alarm control, which resolved the problem without needing to change the alarm sensor.

Optical locking? I'm not sure. Is that a common cause for this particular issue?

It was the source of my alarm woes, yes. I'd suggest having a workshop take a look. For me, it was that the alarm system was coded to activate the optical locking, causing problems with the immobilizer. They did not need to change the alarm sensor, just adjusted the alarm control. Cost me around 45€ to fix.

Thank you for the information. I appreciate the help. Took it to the shop as suggested, and they fixed the alarm system coded to activate optical locking. Error gone!

I also have a Noah, though not a 2020 model. Are you perhaps using the optical locking function? That is, the alarm system coded to activate optical locking (indicators)?
