Toyota Noah Battery Sensor Issue

My 2003 Toyota Noah with a gasoline engine is giving me fits. 171569 km on the clock. The battery's acting weak – weak starts, lights flickering. I'm betting it's the battery sensor, but has anyone else seen this?

I had similar symptoms in my Noah! Is the voltage dropping way below 12V when you turn the key? And do the lights dim even at idle?

Yep, voltage takes a nosedive on startup. The lights are dimming at idle too, especially with the AC running. Did you end up replacing the sensor yourself, or did you take it to a shop?

I messed around with it for a bit, but I'm no electrician. I took it to a workshop, they confirmed the sensor was shot. Honestly, for the sake of time and not frying something, I'd recommend the same.

Roger that. I suspected as much. Shop it is. Thanks for confirming my suspicions! Turns out, you were spot on. New sensor and diagnostics set me back 315€, but at least she starts like a champ now.
