Thanks for the insight! Which camshaft solenoid valves are you referring to specifically, and how did you diagnose the power supply issue? Any tips on where to start?

It was the VANOS solenoid valve on the inlet camshaft for me. I'd suggest checking the wiring and connections first, then test the solenoid itself with a multimeter, or just go to the workshop. If you don't have the right tools, it may be easier and quicker in the long run.

Appreciate the advice! Indeed, after a thorough check, it turned out that the inlet VANOS solenoid valve was faulty. The repair cost me about 250€. Now the engine runs as new!

Hey, sounds familiar. I had similar symptoms on my old BMW 3 series. Turned out to be a defect in one of the camshaft solenoid valves, or maybe power supply not available. Have you checked those?
