Trafic check engine light and idling

My 2014 Renault Trafic with a gasoline engine is giving me grief. The check engine light keeps popping up. I've been tinkering around, and it seems like it might be related to a defective hose connection from the pump to the air valve. Anyone else run into this?

Sounds familiar! I had a similar issue with my Trafic (don't remember the exact year). Was it causing any other problems, like engine stalling or rough idling? I was pulling my hair out trying to figure it out!

Yeah, sometimes the engine acts like it wants to stall at idle, and it's idling rough. What exactly was the problem with your Trafic? Was it definitely the air valve hose? Any details would really help.

Yep, those vacuum hoses can be sneaky devils. Mine ended up being a cracked hose connection causing an air leak, messing with the air valve. Honestly, I'd recommend taking it to a workshop. They'll have the right tools to diagnose it properly.

Thanks a bunch for the advice! Took it to a mechanic, and you were spot on - cracked hose to the air valve. Replaced it, and the check engine light is gone, and the idling is smooth again! Cost me 175€, but worth it for the peace of mind.
