Trafic Mirror Heating Fault

Hi, I have a 2013 Renault Trafic with a gasoline engine. The mirror heating isn't working. The mirrors stay cold, and the error memory shows a fault. I suspect a bad cable or plug. Has anyone seen this before?

Summary of the thread

The 2013 Renault Trafic had a mirror heating issue where the mirrors remained cold, and an error was indicated in the system. The suspected cause was a faulty cable or plug. After checking the fuses and confirming they were fine, the problem was resolved by replacing the damaged cable and plug, restoring the mirror heating functionality.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Oh man, that sucks! I had the exact same problem with my old Opel Astra, although that was a 2016 diesel. Cold mirrors in winter are the worst. Did you check the fuses? I'd start there, even though you said error memory...

Thanks for the reply. I have checked the fuses and they are fine. Any other thoughts?

Dang, that's what I was hoping it would be! When the fuses were ok on my Astra, I just took it to a workshop. They said the heater element was the problem. Cost me a fortune for a new mirror! If you're getting an error code I'd suggest a shop visit. It's a safety thing, especially in cold weather.

Thanks for the advice. I had a look at the plug on the mirror itself and the cable was damaged as suspected. New cable and plug - total cost 95€. All sorted now!
