Trafic OBD Readiness Reset
Summary of the thread
A 2004 Renault Trafic diesel displayed a 'System readiness check incomplete' error after using an OBD2 reader, likely due to clearing codes. This error indicates that the onboard diagnostics system hasn't completed its tests. The solution involved performing a specific drive cycle to reset the OBD readiness, resolving the issue without repair costs.

I did clear some codes after a scan. So, this drive cycle thing - is it some kind of magic? How long is 'a bit', and what kind of driving are we talking about?

It's not magic, more like a checklist the van needs to complete. I never figured out the exact sequence. If it persists, and you need to get the vehicle inspected, you will have to go to the workshop.

You were spot on. It just needed a specific drive cycle to reset the OBD readiness. After driving as suggested, it was gone. No repair cost!

I had something similar on my Trafic. Was it after you cleared codes or did a scan? The onboard diagnostics system needs to run all its tests before it's 'ready' for inspection. Did you try driving it for a bit?
