Trafic Sun Blind Problem

Alright, Renault Trafic aficionados, I'm in a bind! My 2003 Trafic with a gasoline engine is giving me grief. The sun blind has decided to stage a rebellion. It's stuck! Won't retract, won't extend, just sits there mocking me. The error memory is also showing an error. I'm guessing it's the motor, but before I start tearing things apart, has anyone else dealt with this?

Hey there! I know that feeling all too well. I had a similar sun blind debacle with my Trafic. Drove me nuts! Was the blind making any noise at all when you tried to operate it? In my case, it was completely silent, which pointed me towards an electrical issue. I'm curious if you're experiencing something similar before you go down the motor replacement road.

Thanks for the quick reply! Yeah, it's making a faint whirring noise, like the motor is trying to do something, but failing miserably. It's not completely silent, which is why I'm leaning towards a jammed or failing motor. Did yours make any noise, or was it just stone-cold dead?

Okay, that whirring noise is interesting, but it still sounds like a motor issue. Mine was completely dead, no sound whatsoever. Given your description, it might be the motor struggling against something, or the motor itself is just giving up the ghost. Honestly, unless you're super confident with auto electrics, I'd suggest taking it to a workshop. Replacing the motor yourself could be tricky, and you might end up causing more problems than you solve.

Appreciate the advice! Looks like I'll bite the bullet and take it to a shop. Got a quote for around 330€ for the repair, which includes a new motor. Hopefully, that'll be the end of my sun blind woes. Thanks again for sharing your experience!
