Trailblazer Oxygen Sensor Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2014 Chevrolet Trailblazer is experiencing a check engine light due to an oxygen sensor heater failure, accompanied by increased fuel consumption. The initial inspection of the sensor connection showed no visible corrosion. A similar past issue was resolved by identifying a cracked wire inside the plug, causing intermittent connection problems. The suggested solution is to have the vehicle checked at a workshop, where the problem was confirmed to be a faulty cable, costing 95€ to repair.

Yeah, I gave the plug a quick look, but nothing jumped out at me. What exactly was wrong with yours? Was it visibly damaged, or was it more subtle?

Mine wasn't obvious at first glance. It was a cracked wire inside the plug itself, causing intermittent connection issues. I only found it by wiggling the wires while the engine was running. But honestly, after all the troubleshooting I did, it might be easier just to get it checked at a workshop. I remember the hassle, could be just the sensor too. In the end the repair cost was around 95€.

Thanks for the insight! I think I'll take your advice and bring it in. I'll let you know what the garage says. Turns out it was the cable, just like you suspected. Cost me 95€ to get it fixed. Thanks again for your help!

Hey, I had a similar issue with my Trailblazer. Faulty sensor, check engine light, higher fuel consumption. It sounds like a defective oxygen sensor. Did you check the plug and wiring connected to the sensor really carefully? I remember that being the culprit in my case a while back.
