Trajet Defrost Air Distribution Fault
Summary of the thread
A 2000 Hyundai Trajet is experiencing a defrost air distribution fault, with an error stored in the memory and low heating output. The likely cause is suspected to be a defective cable or plug connection. Suggestions include checking connections to the heater core and climate control unit, as well as considering a faulty servo motor. Ultimately, taking the vehicle to a workshop is recommended for a thorough inspection and repair.

Thanks for the tip! Yeah, the air is barely lukewarm, even after driving for a while. Where exactly are the connections to the heater core located? And is it easy to access the climate control unit to check the connections there, or do I have to pull apart half the dashboard panel?

Okay, lukewarm air definitely points to a similar issue. The heater core connections are usually behind the dashboard panel, near the center console. Accessing the climate control unit involves some disassembly, yes. Honestly, based on what you're describing, I'd recommend getting it checked out at a workshop. I ended up doing that and they found a bad connection in no time.

Appreciate the advice! I think you're right, I'll take it to a shop. They reckon it will be around 95€, so fingers crossed that fixes the issue.

Hey man, I had something similar happen with my Trajet. Is the air coming out lukewarm even when the engine is warm? Check the connections to the heater core, and also the climate control unit itself. Sometimes a loose connection can cause all sorts of weirdness with the air distribution. It could also be a faulty servo motor.
