Transit low tire pressure ABS and steering issues

I'm experiencing a persistent low tire pressure warning on my 2022 Ford Transit Electric. My van has done 245398 km. The ABS lamp lights up intermittently, the steering wheel vibrates noticeably, and the steering requires increased effort, suggesting potential power steering failure. I've checked the tire pressures manually, and they all seem correct. I even tried re-inflating them, but the warning persists. Could this be a faulty tire sensor issue? Could a slow pressure loss be the cause?

I experienced something similar with my Transit. The low tire pressure warning, coupled with ABS and steering issues, points to a potentially defective valve in one of your tires. The system is hyper-sensitive, and even a small deviation can trigger those symptoms. Have you checked all the tire sensors are working fine?

Thanks for the quick response! When you say 'defective valve', do you mean the valve stem itself within the tire, or the tire pressure sensor mounted inside the wheel? And how would I check the sensors?

Yes, the valve stem itself within the tire was the culprit in my case. As for checking the sensors yourself, unless you have access to a specialized diagnostic tool it is nearly impossible, and can be dangerous. Given the symptoms you describe, and to avoid potential safety risks, I strongly recommend visiting a workshop for professional diagnosis.

Took the Transit to a local garage. The valve in tire was defective. They replaced it and recalibrated the TPMS. All warning lights are now off, and the steering is back to normal. Total repair cost: 280€ Thanks a lot for the advice!
