Transit radar sensor malfunction

Hi, I have a 2003 Ford Transit with a gasoline engine. The radar sensor seems to have stopped working. I'm getting an error message in the speedometer, and there's an error stored in the error memory. It's causing some other systems to fail, and the warning light is on in the speedometer. Mileage is at 130914 km. Any ideas?

Hmm, a radar sensor issue on a Transit that old is a bit unusual. Are you sure it's the radar sensor specifically? What exactly does the error code say? And are you sure the sensor itself isn't just dirty or obstructed? Has the van had any front-end work recently?

The error code points directly to the radar sensor. I haven't checked if it's dirty, but I can do that. Where exactly is the sensor located on the Transit? Is it easy to access?

Okay, if the code definitely points to the radar sensor, fair enough. It's often behind the front bumper, somewhere central. Access can be a pain, you might need to remove part of the bumper. Honestly, unless you're comfortable fiddling, it might be worth a quick visit to a workshop. They can at least confirm the sensor's condition and check the wiring properly.

Thanks for the advice. Turns out, it was just a dirty sensor. Cleaned it, and everything is working fine again. Cost me 45€ for the cleaning. Appreciate the help!
