Transmission problems in a 2015 Seat Leon Diesel: experience and solutions wanted

Hi everyone, I have a 2015 Seat Leon diesel with 85,042 km on the clock and have recently noticed problems with the gearbox. It slips through the gears irregularly, there is a grinding noise when shifting and a high pitched or grinding noise. I think the problem may be related to faulty transmission oil pressure. Have any of you had similar experiences? What was your experience at the mechanic? Would love to hear your stories and solutions, especially after the last garage where I didn't have a good experience. Thanks in advance!

Hey, I drive a 2013 Seat Ibiza and had similar symptoms with my car some time ago. At the garage they found that the gearbox had a serious problem. In my car, it was the gearbox bearings that were no longer running smoothly and causing this grinding noise. My gearbox was also leaking transmission oil due to a defective sealing ring. That was quite a job to fix. Maybe you should have it checked.

Hi, thanks for the quick reply! Sounds like you had exactly the same problem. Can you remember how much you paid to get it fixed? And has anything else come up since the gearbox was repaired? Thank you in advance!

Hey, I remember it well - it was quite a chunk of change. I paid a total of €1000 to have the transmission control unit repaired. But since I went to the mechanic, the transmission oil pressure problem has been fixed. And the car runs like clockwork, no further problems since then. So in my case, it was money well spent, but of course I don't know what your situation is. First of all, take it to the mechanic and see what he says. Good luck with that!

Hey, thanks for the info! Sure, €1000 is quite a lot and that's something you don't like to hear. But it's reassuring to know that you haven't had any more problems since then. I'll probably go to the garage tomorrow and hope they find the cause. Maybe I'll be lucky... Thank you again, that really helped!
