Traveller transmission control unit failure

I'm having some serious issues with my 2021 Peugeot Traveller diesel. It's only done 27823 km! The transmission is going nuts. The paddle shifters are totally unresponsive, and the gearbox is slipping like crazy, making horrible grinding noises when it does shift. The response time of the paddle shifters is awful, and now the gearbox is stuck in emergency mode. I plugged it into a code reader, and there's an error stored related to the transmission control unit. Anyone else experienced something similar?

Sounds familiar. I have a Traveller as well, and I had similar symptoms a while back. Paddle shifters not working, the transmission shifting roughly, and the transmission shifting roughly, and eventually going into limp mode. Did the error code point specifically to the transmission control module?

Yeah, the error code seems to point directly at the transmission control unit being defective. Did you have to replace the entire unit? What was the damage, if you don't mind asking?

Unfortunately, yes, the control unit was the culprit. It seems these units can be a bit fragile. I strongly suggest you visit a workshop for a precise diagnosis. They can confirm if it's the control unit beyond any doubt and give you a proper quote for the repair.

Thanks for the heads up! I took it to the workshop, and you were spot on. They confirmed it's a defective transmission control unit. Cost me about 1000€ to get it sorted, but at least it's finally fixed!
