Trax Airbag Warning Light
Summary of the thread
A 2016 Chevrolet Trax owner reports an airbag warning light issue, with a diagnostic scan suggesting a fault in the airbag system, possibly due to a defective cable or plug connection. Another Trax owner suggests checking the crash sensor connections, particularly under the front seats, as loose plugs can cause similar problems. It is recommended to have a professional workshop inspect and repair the issue to ensure safety, as tampering with the airbag system can be risky.

Thanks for the tip! Where exactly are these crash sensor connections located? Are they difficult to access?

Yeah, they're usually under the front seats, sometimes also near the front of the car itself. Honestly, unless you are really comfortable fiddling with car electronics, I'd suggest getting a workshop to take a look. I got mine checked and it turned out to be a loose connection after all! I didn't want to risk messing with the airbag system myself. Car safety's not something to gamble with, right?

Understood. I'll schedule a visit to the workshop. They quoted me 95€ for diagnosis and repair, stating a faulty plug connection. Thanks for the help!

Hey! I've got a Trax, too. I had something like that happen a while back with my restraint system. Check the crash sensor connections, especially under the seats. Could be a loose plug. Airbag recall issues are rampant, worth checking out!
