Trax poor starting fuel consumption
Summary of the thread
A 2016 Chevrolet Trax with 185,016 km is experiencing poor starting, increased fuel consumption, reduced engine power, uneven idling, and occasional stalling. The suspected cause is a defective or dirty fuel injection nozzle. Suggested solutions include using a fuel injector cleaner and checking for vacuum leaks. If these do not resolve the issue, a workshop visit for diagnostics and potential injector replacement is recommended.

Thanks for the tip! Fuel injector cleaner is next on my list. Vacuum leaks I haven't checked yet. But how did you pinpoint the injectors on your Astra?

Well, after the symptoms persisted, I took it to a workshop. They ran diagnostics and found the injectors weren't spraying properly. A good cleaning might help in your case, but honestly, with those kilometers, they might just be worn out. I ended up replacing mine. Cost a pretty penny, but solved the problem.

Appreciate the insight. I'll try the cleaner, but a workshop visit seems inevitable. Diagnostics and possible replacement sound like the way to go. Estimate from my mechanic came in at 515€, so I'll get it sorted.

Sounds frustrating! I had similar issues with my old Opel Astra, though it was a diesel. Rough starts, poor mileage, the whole shebang. Turned out to be dirty injectors causing misfires. Have you tried any fuel injector cleaner? Or maybe checked for vacuum leaks?
