Trax Transmission Indicator and Check Engine Lights
Summary of the thread
A 2015 Chevrolet Trax exhibited intermittent transmission indicator and check engine lights, with symptoms including erratic gear shifts, slippage, and grinding noises. The error memory suggested a defective radiator oil pressure issue. The problem was traced to a compromised cable connection to the radiator oil pressure sensor, which was repaired, resolving the issue and restoring normal vehicle operation.

Could you elaborate on the specifics of the Renault Megane incident? Did the issue manifest with similar error codes, and did it relate to a compromised oil pressure sensor within the radiator system, or a more generalized cooling system malfunction?

Basically, yeah. Same error codes. Turned out to be a faulty sensor and a dodgy connection. A shop visit sorted it quickly. Probably best to get yours checked out.

I sought counsel from a trusted workshop, as recommended. The assessment confirmed a defective cable connection to the radiator oil pressure sensor, culminating in a repair cost of 95€. The issue is resolved; the vehicle is now operating normally.

Sounds familiar. I had similar weirdness in my old Renault Megane. Was the cooling fan running constantly, even when the engine wasn't overheating? Might be a pressure sensor issue affecting the whole cooling system.
