Tucson Hybrid Stalling Rough Idle
Summary of the thread
A 2022 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid with 180,000 km was experiencing starting issues, stalling, rough idling, increased fuel consumption, and a check engine light due to a fuel system error code. The problem was suspected to be a defective fuel pump. However, a suggestion was made to check the fuel pump's cable or plug connection. Upon inspection, a corroded connection was found and cleaned, resolving the issue and clearing the error code, leading to improved vehicle performance.

Thanks for the tip! Where exactly is that connection located? Is it easy to get to, or will I need to take apart half the engine bay?

It's kinda tucked away near the fuel tank. Honestly, I'm not the most mechanically inclined, and I ended up taking it to a workshop. They found a loose connection there and fixed it pretty quickly. Probably best to have a professional take a look to be safe. It's definitely worth checking before replacing the pump!

Okay, I appreciate the advice. I had my mechanic check the fuel pump connection and, sure enough, it was a bit corroded. They cleaned it up and secured everything. The error code is gone, and it runs like new! The whole thing cost me just 95€. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

Whoa, that sounds familiar! I've got a Tucson Hybrid too. I had similar symptoms a while back – rough idle, check engine light, and the occasional stall. Have you checked the cable or plug connection to the fuel pump? That was my issue. It's worth a look before you assume the worst.
