Tundra Hybrid Oil Pressure Warning

I've got a 2023 Toyota Tundra hybrid with about 111k km on it. Recently, the oil pressure warning lamp has been lighting up, and I'm hearing some pretty nasty mechanical noises coming from the engine. I checked the oil level, and it's fine. Could it be a clogged oil filter maybe? Anyone else experienced something like this?

I had a similar issue with my old Volvo XC60, though it wasn't a hybrid. The oil pressure light kept coming on, and it turned out to be a defect in the oil pump. Before that happened, did you notice any changes in how your engine was running? Like, any loss of power or unusual vibrations?

Thanks for the quick reply! No loss of power or vibrations that I've noticed, just the light and the noise. How did you figure out it was the oil pump on your Volvo? And was it expensive to fix?

Well, the Volvo started with the same symptoms as your Tundra. Eventually, the noise got worse, and I took it to a workshop. They checked the oil pressure with a gauge and confirmed it was way too low. They diagnosed it as a faulty oil pump. Based on your symptoms, I'd suggest getting it checked out ASAP before it causes more damage.

Took it to the shop, and you were right – oil pump failure. Repair cost is gonna be around 755€. Thanks for the heads up, definitely saved me from a bigger headache!
